Ingredients
- 1 cup ripe strawberries
- 5 ounces granulated sugar
Directions

Slice strawberries.

Cover with sugar and let macerate for a few hours.

Blend strawberries and sugar in a blender then strain thru a fine mesh strainer.

Transfer to stove and heat until boiling; hold for 1 minute.

Transfer to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.

Cook's Note:
Be careful not to over-boil the mixture. You don't want to accidentally make jelly by over-reducing the syrup. The idea for heating it is only to extend it's shelf life and let any undissolved sugar fully incorporate.
